What's New
January 26, 2004
Dear
Valued VSF Members,
We,
at the Valley Soccer Foundation, would like to take a moment
to thank you for your generous support this past year. Your
donations paved the way for getting Men;s Soccer and Women's
Swimming reinstated this past season. As you may already know,
the VSF came up short of the $2 million that was needed by
the January 15th deadline, imposed by the Athletic Dept. at
Fresno State. Although we were disappointed that we couldn't
raise the necessary funds, we are extremely encouraged with
the administration's decision to put the sports on a one year
hiatus rather than drop the programs altogether. The Athletic
Dept. is eager to sit down with us to formulate a plan to get
the sports reinstated for the 2005-2006 season.
With
over a year's time to fundraise, and the administration's support,
we are confident that the Soccer Dogs will be back in 2005.
With your continued support, we can reach that $2 million number. We,
at the Valley Soccer Foundation, see the recent announcement
to put the Soccer program on a one year hiatus, not as a setback,
but rather an opportunity to continue our efforts for a full reinstatement
in 2005. We can only hope that you can share our views, and continue
your generous support that is so very critical to our efforts.
VSF
will be hosting an open forum meeting combined with a cheese
and wine social held at the Copper River Country Club. The
event is open to all VSF members. Further details to follow.
Thank you once again for your contributions. We hope the new
year is filled with good health, happiness and a whole lot
of success!!!
Sincerely,
Randall Smith
President
Valley Soccer Foundation
